Review: 2011 Isuzu FSR 850 Curtainsider Truck
Isuzu FSR 850 Curtainsider Truck: The Introduction
When transporting freights locally, there are different kinds of vehicles that you can utilise in order to finish the job efficiently. There are refrigerated trucks, flat decks, and dry vans. All these have their own advantages. But did you know that there is one particular truck that can combine the benefits of these three? A curtainsider truck, that is.
Essentially, these curtainsider trucks can give you the convenience of a flat deck since they also have this stable body with square frames along their sides. They can also provide you the protection similar to a dry van due to their skeletal construction. Now, in today’s review, I will be sharing with you a great curtainsider truck, just in case you’re looking for one to add to your shipping business. The model is the 2011 Isuzu FSR 850. Read on and let’s see if this can increase the productivity of your drivers.
Isuzu FSR 850 Curtainsider Truck: Key Features
The Isuzu FSR 850 incorporates several top-notch features that can surely help you tackle shipping tasks with utmost ease. One of these is its engine. Particularly, this rigid truck has a 6-cylinder Sitec Series II 325 Isuzu engine that can produce a maximum power of 176 kW (236 HP) @ 2,400 RPM. What’s nice about this spec, though, is that it comes along with an induction system and an emission control system.
In addition, it provides an excellent braking power, too, which can be handy in sudden stops. It packs dual circuit air over hydraulic brakes (rear and front), a spring park brake, an air dryer, and an air controlled exhaust brake.
The flat top body of the FSR 850 measures 6180mm long, 2225mm wide, and 2200mm high. This has enabled us to easily transport machinery and consumer goods during our road test. The body also incorporates side fastening curtains and some fold out load steps under it. What’s more, it has internal pallet cell frames as well that you can either remove or convert to a cab chassis or a tray truck, depending on your requirements.
FSR 850’s cabin is as impressive as its exterior. When we hopped on it, the first thing that caught my eye was its Isri 6860 air suspension driver’s seat. This comes complete with a pneumatic lumbar support and an automatic weight adjustment. Other interior features include a premium pack footrest, a fluorescent type interior light, and a premium pack AMT.
Apart from these standard features that I have mentioned, there are also other accessories that you can request to have. These include a Digital Audio Visual Entertainment unit, which consists of a tyre pressuring monitoring system, cables and connections for your hand held devices, and up to four reversing cameras. An Isuzu satellite navigation with three years of free upgrades is also included in the unit. Finally, you can opt for an air deflector and an airbag compatible bullbar.
