Review: 2005 Hino GT Ranger Tray Truck
Hino GT Ranger Tray Truck: The Introduction
Rigid trucks are the lifeblood of any delivery and logistics business operation. With them, not only can you secure the shipment of your consumer goods, you can also maximise the efficiency and productivity of your workers. Now, in case you’re on the lookout for a reliable rigid truck to add to your biz, there is a vast selection on the market that you can actually choose from. There are even used models, which are better options if you don’t have that large budget.
Hino, a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, is just one of the brands that offer these pre-owned rigs that I’m talking about. I can give you my take though on their 2005 GT Ranger, which is quite an old tray truck model yet can still perform at a top level, so you can have more choices. Let’s begin.
Hino GT Ranger Tray Truck: Key Features
Of all the used rigid trucks that we’ve encountered, the GT Ranger is, so far, the most powerful and dependable. And I’m sure that is not hard to believe knowing that it comes from a big truck brand. Based on our road test, what I truly loved about this set of wheels is the fact that it contains all the expertise of Hino when it comes to truck manufacturing. In other words, it’s a high-quality rig with a performance that is essential in many logistics businesses.
Hino’s Ranger series consists of different models, though the GT and the FT are the only ones that offer 4WD variants. Specifications wise, the 2005 model brings a couple of superb features that can surely help you tackle a number of applications with ease. To be exact, it incorporates a turbo inter cooled engine that can punch out up to 220 horsepower. It also has a 6-speed Synchro transmission that makes the vehicle smooth to drive and maneuver.
In terms of look, the 2005 GT Ranger only brings that somewhat average design. But don’t get me wrong here. Despite its ordinary construction, I still find it a durable and comfortable rig. On it is an alloy bullbar that not only gives it a “bad boy” look but also provides utmost protection to it. Not only that, it also has a 4.7M X 2.4M cook steel drop side tray body. This body comes complete with twist locks, tie down points, and removable gates so you can easily load and unload your materials and consumer goods.
Inside the spacious cabin is a comfortable space that I bet you’ll surely love. There are plenty of leg room for better driving during day-long operations. The windshield is large enough as well for you to get a nice visibility of the road ahead. A spring suspension, toolboxes, and twin 200L fuel tanks also come as standard.

Hino GT Ranger Tray Truck: The Verdict
As you can see, the Hino GT Ranger may be quite an old model but it can still be very useful in your delivery and logistics business operation. Personally, what I liked about it is its tough cook steel drop side tray body that’s spacious enough to carry all your materials, including furniture and small machinery. I also liked its unbeatable power coming from its 220hp engine and Synchro transmission. It just lacks in ergonomic design but I still see it as a worthy inclusion in your biz.
