Review: 2015 Mack Superliner Prime Mover Truck
2015 Mack Superliner: The Introduction
I’m back with another prime mover truck review just for you, folks. But this time, I won’t be focusing again on another Kenworth vehicle. Instead, I will be featuring a particular rig that is perhaps one of the most popular in B-double and B-triple applications here in Australia. The Mack Superliner, that is.
Bear in mind that this vehicle is no ordinary make/model and this was corroborated when my team and I personally tested it over the weekend. Our ride above the wheels of the Superliner turned out completely fine. In fact, it was during our test that I realized that this rig is truly a “master” and is powerful enough to deal with the toughest transport and hauling duties. I’ll let you know more about the 2015 Mack Superliner in my review below. So before heading over to a distributor like Brown and Hurley, it would be best to check this review. Let’s begin shall we?
2015 Mack Superliner: Key Features
Unmatched strong engine
When it comes to power and performance, me and my team have nothing to say against the Superliner. Inside this heavy-duty truck is a MP10 engine, which is said to be the most powerful and most superior engine Mack has ever offered. It uses a SCR technology that helps in reducing emissions and fuel saving, and delivers a strong 685 horsepower and a massive 2,300 lb-ft torque. With this, it is obvious that this Mack “baby” can get any job done.
Upon road testing, I instantly became a fan of the Superliner’s mDRIVE automated manual transmission. I love its smoothness and efficiency, plus the superb drivability that it can give to operators. Personally, I think the mDRIVE and the MP10 engine is a match made in heaven. According to some specialists from my team, Mack’s mDRIVE is the only type of transmission that can handle the power of the MP10. It was designed to be tough, so drivers can haul oversized loads much easier.
Superb standard features
The 2015 Superliner is also jam-packed with great specs, making it the truck of choice for different heavy-duty operations. Specifically, it is fitted with a Mack AP460 Air Bag suspension, Meritor RT46-160GP rear axles that come with controlled diff locks, and a top-notch Mack Powerleash engine brake that gives nothing but the best braking control under the toughest conditions.
Compared to the previous Mack Superliner models that we have road tested, this one has really improved in terms of performance and design. One thing I like about it is its enhanced high-rise sleeper that is cozy and quiet enough to give drivers utmost relaxation on operations that require overnight stops. The cab is very spacious and accommodating, with seats covered with nice burgundy-colored leather. Inside this 6×4 prime mover truck are some multimedia features as well, such as a sound system with Bluetooth, to keep the driver company during the lonely hours of his long transporting and hauling journey.
The exterior of this vehicle is a work of art, too. Its shiny, white and silver finish brings a timeless classic look that will surely catch the eye of most truck owners. And at first look, you’d also fall in love with its polished alloy bumper, fuel tanks, and disc wheels.

2015 Mack Superliner: The Verdict
The 2015 Mack Superliner is one of the top performing prime mover trucks I have ever reviewed so far. Based from the key features I’ve detailed above, it is equipped with a superior engine and transmission that I believe really work well together to give the unmatched power and comfort that you need in your business’ pulling and delivering operations. This rig, after testing it for a couple of times, is obviously a good fit not just for livestock transport, but for heavy-haul, road-train, and B-triple applications as well. The specs that Mack has incorporated into it are just simply “beyond ordinary.”
