Nissan’s one of the car and truck manufacturer that has always been open about their production process and company policies. In fact, the manufacturing giant’s behind-the-scene videos about their production plants and top-selling cars has long been lauded by critics and consumers alike. And as part of the brand’s global series highlighting Nissan’s key products and plants, and the people who are behind them, the lenses focus were shifted to one of the company’s top light commercial vehicle in the market: the Titan.
According to Nissan, ever since the versatile truck has been brought to the market in 2003, the titan had always been engineered in one place–in the Canton Mississippi. Just like what the company said, the mighty truck’s history, in many ways is the plant’s own story. In fact, the staff of the manufacturing plant refer to the vehicle like no other produced there, proudly calling it “Canton’s TITAN.”
“All Titan’s made have come out of this plant,” said chief engineer Erik Fields.
To accommodate the production of the latest edition of the Titan, factory lines were modified to accommodate the sheer size and weight of the new truck, which comes in multiple sizes, engines, colors and technological specifications.
“Canton has produced more than three million vehicles in its history, including the Titan, Murano, Altima, Armada and Frontier. The new Titan takes up to 16 hours to manufacture, from coiled steel to ready-to-drive. Fortunately, this video packs all that into just under five minutes,” Nissan added, while also referring to the intricate behind-the-scenes look below.
The behind-the-scenes look at the Titan brings the product much closer to the consumers, as we get to see and ultimately learn some of the process and the people behind the making of the versatile Nissan light commercial truck.
